Independence

GBR24 decides what to publish on editorial grounds alone. Advertisers and sponsors have no say in our coverage and are never shown an article before it is published.

Accuracy and verification

We check claims before publishing, seek more than one source for contested facts, and give people criticised in a story a fair chance to respond. Where a fact cannot be confirmed, we say so in the article.

Sources

We name our sources wherever it is safe and fair to do so. Anonymity is granted only when the information matters to the public and naming the source would put them at risk, and the reason is explained in the article.

Bylines and dates

Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it and the date it was published. Substantive updates are dated.

Use of AI

Any article produced with the help of AI tools is labelled as such, and is read, checked and approved by a member of staff before publication. We do not publish unreviewed machine-generated reporting.

Corrections

Mistakes are corrected openly and recorded on the article. See the Corrections Policy.
